Basic Chinese Business Words and Sentences

- 商业用语和句子
Business word #1: 莅临 (lì lín)
- 莅临 (lìlín): to arrive; to be present; to visit.
The term 莅临 (lìlín) is used to indicate the arrival or visit (esp. of a notable person).
Example phrase 1
- Welcome (esteemed guests) to our company.
- Dear guests, welcome to (visit) our company.
- Huānyínɡ ɡèwèi lìlín běn ɡōnɡsī.
- 欢迎各位莅临本公司。
Business word #2: 招待 (zhāo dài)
- 招待 (zhāo dài): receive (guests); entertain guests/customers
Example phrase 2
- Please forgive our poor hospitality.
- Zhāodài bùzhōu, hái qǐnɡ duō bāohán.
- 招待不周，还请多包涵。
This is a polite phrase often used by the host to show humility during a professional event/meeting.
Business word #3: 合作 (hézuò)
- 合作 (hézuò): to cooperate; cooperation; to work together; collaborate, joint venture.
- 中英合作 (zhōng yīng hézuò): China-UK Joint Venture.
- 中新合作 (zhōng xīn hézuò): China-Singapore Joint Venture.
Example phrase 3
- It’s great to cooperate with you (happy partnership)! We look forward to working together again.
- 合作愉快，期待我们下次继续合作。
- Hézuò yúkuài, qīdài wǒmen xiàcì jìxù hézuò.
Business word #4: 国产 (Guó chǎn)
- 国产 (Guó chǎn): made in China; made in one’s country; domestically produced.
Example phrase 4
- Domestic produced film.
- Guóchǎn yǐngpiàn.
- 国产影片。
Business word #5: 营业 (Yíng yè)
- 营业 (Yíng yè): to do business; to trade
Example phrase 5
- Business hours.
- Yíngyè shíjiān.
- 营业时间。
Example phrase 6
- It’s open (e.g. the shop/restaurant is open for business).
- Yíngyè zhōng.
- 营业中。
