In our day-to-day life, we often commend others for their efficient works. We generally use some of the following terms to appreciate the job done well:

  • Good job!
  • Well done!
  • Excellent!
  • That’s great!
  • That’s terrific!

#1 做得好 (zuò de hǎo)

  • 做 (zuò): to do, to make, to produce
  • 好 (hǎo): good
  • 做得好 (zuò de hǎo): well done

Example Case #1

  1. Manager, this month we have hit the target in advance.
  2. Jīnglǐ, wǒmen tíqián dábiāo le,
  3. 经理,这个月我们提前达标了。
  4. Good job!
  5. Zuò de hǎo!

#2 干得漂亮 (gàn de piàoliang)

The character 做 can be substituted by 干 (gàn).

  • 干 (gàn): to work, to do
  • 漂亮 (piàoliang): remarkable, brilliant, splendid, pretty, beautiful

Example Case #2

  1. The contract is settled finally!
  2. Hétong zhōngyú dìng le!
  3. 合同终于定了!
  4. Gàn de piàoliang!
  5. Good job!
  6. 干得漂亮!

#3 好样的 (hǎo yàng de)

样 (yàng): model, sample, pattern.

好样的 is an idiom. It is often used to praise ethical deeds and courage.

You can also say 好样儿的 (hǎo yàng er de), which mean “a good fellow” or “a good example.”

Example Case #3

  1. I finally got the driving license!
  2. Wǒ zhōngyú ná dào jiàzhào le!
  3. 我终于拿到驾照了!
  4. Good job!
  5. Hǎo yàng de!
  6. 好样的!
